It's been a while...

Hello world! Dear God it's been a while since my last post, and for that I am sorry! I am, however, not sorry for all the wonderful things that have been going on in the past month!  It's kind of strange...to sit here and think how to keep my work life/personal life/activist life separate, but I'm wondering if I should combine all three? Anyway, I've yet to assume an "eternal" online handle and identity.
Anyway! I just finished volunteering at the Desiree Alliance Conference, and I can't even begin to relay to you how awesome of an experience it was! I met so many amazing people that changed my life, and I can't even express my gratitude in words. I will be sure to tell you more and update with links, but for now I'm just letting you know I'm still alive!
This Blog will now serve as a means for my activism, my photography, and anything else I desire!
Also, photographically speaking, I will be breaking out of my shell and working with an ALL NEW cast of people with brand new models and stylists! No sense in getting stuck in routine, so I'm working afresh and I can't wait to begin. My next favorite model is getting her braces off this week so fingers crossed that all goes well! And more desert shoots to come! I've been spending a lot of time with the activism and modeling lately that I haven't had time to shoot. Also, August 7 I will know officially my status at UNLV.

Keep rocking everyone!

WEEK OF FUN!

Hello internet land! Today is monday, but I hope everyone out there wished their father a Happy Father's Day! Even if holidays are created by man, and they've become commercial days, it's still nice to call your dad up and say hey I appreciate you. It's interesting though when you have step family, because you have to call both dads. Anywho. The next two weeks are going to be filled with lots of events for me, so things will be slow in photo world! My sister is turning the BIG 21 this week and I am busy planning all the events. Summer school is coming to a close though, which means more time to shoot! I know it's her birthday this weekend, but I will be scouting for models all week wherever we go! It's also my mother's birthday. I will be visiting The Artisan, Surrender at Wynn, Margaritaville at Flamingo, MGM/Wet Republic pool, Diego restaurant, Studio 54, the Springs Preserve, and others this week!

I have some upcoming pool shoots planned. One is going to be just simple couture modeling by the pool with out of place items, and the other one involves a pool, girls, midnight, and someone's rooftop. Should be a load of fun! Today my portrait session with the babies got cancelled, but it's ok! Tonight Mz. Mina and Dev Delicious will be coming over for a private shoot in my home studio! These guys are two of my closest friends, and are amazingly fabulous and sexy and hot and beautiful and amazing and gorgeous. There's no words for them! Mz. Mina has a fashion line called Devyn  Taunts, and you can catch her live fashion shows at Beauty Bar. When she has another one I will be sure to post! I will also be posting their links as soon as I get them! Mina also makes little hats, think gothic mini hats with the lace face overhang. She is such a rad designer! Hopefully I will be able to do a Candyland photoshoot with Devyn since her favorite themes are princesses, Candy and Candyland, and bright colors. Maybe some stuffed animals?

But, dear world, I MUST let you know of an upcoming event! One of my favorite Adult Film stars, Jesse Jane of Digital Playground, will be having a signing at Deja Vu Love Boutique July 3rd from 9pm-11pm (3247 Industrial Road, Las Vegas), and afterward she will be dancing topless at Deja Vu Showgirls (the old Seamless by The Orleans) at midnight and 2am (3247 Industrial Road, Las Vegas). This performance is 21+ and groups of 7+ get a free bottle and booth. Jesse Jane also be dancing nude at Little Darlings the following night, the 4th of July, at midnight and 2am (1514 Western, Las Vegas). Even if you don't support the porn industry, you can still support me. And sex workers. They are people too!

Well world, that's all I can think of for now. I know the photo updates are slow...! I'm going to internet search japanes lighters and see what kind of kitschy stuff I can find!

You have to see this!!!

Hey Internets! I was just doing some web searches for David LaChappelle photosets, and one thing leads to another of course on the internet. So, I stumble upon this awesome website www.polyvore.com. It is a place like DeviantArt where you can upload images you've made, but you upload these "sets" of photos that have a theme that put together an outfit, or a room. For example, one photoset was Katy Perry cute with pictures of different dresses, color swatches, accessories, hairstyles, etc. I posted it below. Others were of rooms with modern design, and everyone knows how I love modern/minimalist design! So, if you have nothing better to do, or time to procrastinate, check it out! You can also become a member and upload your own photosets! It's interactive, and you can click on the photo to find the links that take you to where you can buy the stuff in the picture. But hey, just look at the photos, and shop knockoff at thrift stores for cheaper! But now, it is study time, and then it's off to Jabbawockeez!

XOXO, Another day Another dollar! A|P Blog

What a day

Let's just cut right to it Internet, the world sucks. How many times have you felt like you yourself were moving forward, but everything and everyone else in the world only pushed you back exponentially. I can not make any forward progress in my life, because everyone else gets to decide for me what "progress" is. World, I am going through such a battle at UNLV right now. They don't look at you like a person, just a number. I've met people who came down with cancer, and UNLV still wouldn't let them withdraw from their classes, and they failed everything. Not that I even really care about this institution, I just want to be able to finish my degree. Is that so hard? Anyway world,  the best advice I can give you is DO NOT WORK HARD! Work Smart towards what you want to do, don't let anyone not even God himself tell you how to live your life. If you never do right by yourself, you can never do right by any other. Save up every penny you've ever made from every dumb job, because when shit hits the fan, all the stuff you have and all the people in your life won't mean anything, but being able to afford a warm meal to put in your belly will.
Don't spend your whole life slaving in a cubicle doing repetitive nonsense from 9-5 unless that's what you truly want to do. The world will live another day if those data don't get entered! Don't get stressed out because you can't make somebody else's life world. Don't lose everything for one person.
It's funny, because I'm petitioning UNLV to get let back in or whatever, and it's just amazing when all people do is say "You're so smart don't give up" and then stamping their big red "DENIED" on your application. You know frustrating it is for people to try to give you the compliment sandwich! If I'm such an awesome student, like I am, let me attend my freaking classes! Stop sending me to collections! Stop stealing my money! WTF!!!
"You're so smart, I can't help you"
"You're so smart, I won't help you"
"You're so smart, figure it out"
"You're so smart, I'm sure another institution would want you"
"You're so smart, why did you fail?"
Oh, the barrage of questions is endless. But all they do is sit and tell you how smart you are.

Anyway, sorry about that mess. On a crappier note, my iPhone shattered to pieces today so please don't call, try to email me if you can. Also, if you do need to get ahold of me, try to bring a project to the table because I have EXTREMELY limited time right now because I'm stretched really thin between all this school mess, getting my money back, work, shooting, and studying. I don't really have a lot of time to hang out, and I'm very stressed anyway.

Photo news- latest shoot with The Sancho Johnny band at Island Grill. One of the bartenders or the owner, I'm not quite sure, Jimmy - he asked me to do the wall of shame photos for a wall he's creating in the bar, he also asked if I could cover the parties/live events, and take photos of the bar for the Facebook profile. I met a lot of interesting people that night, a few other photographers, but all interesting characters. So, welcome new friends and acquaintances or whatever! A couple other things this wee but my mind is so rampant.

Well everyone, I hope maybe you find inspiration with my stories. If I can't lead a great life for myself, maybe I can help others to find their inner greatness. Don't waste your talents and find your passion, it is the only thing that can comfort you at night - the fact you always loved yourself.

Hot stuff!

Well well well! I can absolutely say I'm definitely feeling awesome right now! I've just had a photoshoot with Terrell for a very special project he has been working on for years. BUT! This time around, I played model instead of photographer! Now, for those of you who haven't met me in person, I'm a bit bony. Terrell is a master though, and he made me look like I had badonka donk curves, literally. And if that didn't work, which it did, he is a master in Photoshop as well, and does amazing photos of very small infants. We will be planning so much together in the future I'm literally breaking out of my skin in anticipation!

Besides that personal note, photo news! Obviously I had a photoshoot with Terrell today, but I will be working again with Megan this week, either tomorrow or Tuesday. And Tuesday is Sancho Johnny night again hopefully, but all these computer malfunctions (broken disc burner) is really slowing me down from letting people see their progress! Also, my ModelMayhem account is denied permanently! Because I was an idiot and did not read the requirements list thoroughly, ahem, I mean I read the wrong list entirely or not at all, and went about my merry way. So, as a result, Lisa will probably be creating my profile for me and showing me the ins and outs.

On a personal note, I will hopefully be doing more work for the Desiree Conference this summer and I'll be posting my schedule in case you do swing by the conference! I know, I know registration is $150+ BUT I have never seen an event like this. There ARE people out there working for YOUR rights, even if you think nobody cares about you. The law does not protect many people: artists, photographers, models, the disabled, sex workers, victims, addicts. But the speakers that week will be there to tell you about what legal rights you have as a sex worker, or someone whose profession may cross those grey-area boundaries. They will also be talking about positive self improvement like, how not to take abuse and how to be a stronger person, how to create a safe and positive working environment for yourself, how to save and handle your finances, instructional classes on specific areas (dancing, escorting, etc.), meetings and dinners and events with well published writers on the subjects of sex research, sociology, human sexuality, and relations. No one is there to judge, and this is a safe haven for those who feel left out or with no protection, no one to relate to. If you feel positive about your decision to do your line of work, then allow these people to empower you! Good things can only come of this, and if you work in the adult industry, I hope you are making $200+ a night anyway, which would easily cover the registration, A WHOLE WEEK of this conference, not just a day!

Hopefully, if I do get a new laptop, I will be able to post videoblogs! I also want to find a photographer to do some head shots of me for my bio page. If I can't post videoblogs here, I'll probably make a YouTube channel, and that's just a whole other level of interaction with my readers and followers! Also, I must create a website with a full gallery, because the pictures that avre hosted on BlogSpot are very very small, and I can't quite make the thumbnails how I want. but if I do that, the Blog will become embedded on the main page, or something like that. Anywho, I am running late for work I will catch up with everyone later, there's so much I want to do!

GaGaKlein

Checking out Lady GaGa's new video "Alejandro"... I'm not so sure what I can say about it? Eh eh eh. The whole Gaga Klein thing is all Germany/fetishy/SS, and I really like the uniforms. All the action and the gun bra remind me of Madonna, and erotic like her "Justify My Love" video. As far as the new look, I'm not so sure. The glasses/hatpiece she wears in the beginning is amazing though! It reminds me of the uniform of the SS assassin from HellBoy. I can't wait to see what her newest alter ego will be after this!

And since I'm procrastinating, let's talk about more music videos! Not a lot of people will admit what I'm about to say, but I have been a fan of Aqua since I was in middle school. I remember them being all cartoonish, then futuristic/cyber, and now they're all creepy. Their video "Mamma Said" reminds me of 30 Seconds To Mars/Rammstein "Du Hast" Quentin-Tarantino like video. They said "goodbye to the circus," and now "the adventure continues."

Also, some old favorites. Speaking of Rammstein, all their videos are pretty much weird and intoxicating. Be sure to check out "Engel," "Sonne," and "Feuer Frei!" The "Sonne" video is a bit strange though. I've seen several different versions of the video, and all have subtle differences. The "Feuer Frei!" video is a great picture of how their live shows are, with lots of pyrotechnics, fire, explosions, flame throwers, all kinds of fun stuff! Their lives performances are pretty homoerotic I suppose, but hey that's Germans. Part of the awesome thing about this band is that they are so huge in everywhere else in the world, or at least they were, and they have so much work that can always be found. There's always a new discovery with them, it seems! I have always been a fan of Orgy, and their video "Stitches" from their album Candyass turned me onto the fashion line Lip Service, of LA. I love that band to death, their music and sound were all so new and awesome to me when I was a wee one. I also dig on some Freezepop, and love how lo-fi and DIY their videos are, like "Brain Power." They are fun poppy synth program electro, and they are self managed. And awesome!

The Crystal Method "Trip Like I Do," (oh my god this is the best), Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" is an acid trip within itself, their other video "Breathe," A lot of my friends have been giving me crap about just now discovering La Roux, but check out her video "Bulletproof" because it's totally like an 80's time warp. "You Take My Breath Away" by The Knife is just SUPER 80's ridiculous. Ladytron's "Destroy Everything You Touch" is superbly awesome, and go sexy Matt Goss with "Evil." This is his original version, but his Dave Aude Remix is my favorite. I'm a fan of Big Band old fashion swing sound and sight, so I feel so jazzbluesyamericano cool classic retro. Switching it up, I love Rob Zombie, almost most favorite even if his music blows sometimes. Classics, "Living Dead Girl," and "Return of the Phantom Stranger." His videos are very creepy, very designed, and have an aged macabre look to them that I can't get enough of. I remember being at his world premier at the Palms, and I was just so much in awe to be like finally, I feel artistically blessed just being in your presence!

A creepy excerpt from The Cell, the creepy movie with Jennifer Lopez that surprisingly had AMAZING DESIGN AND VISUALS! More here, and here. Of course, the cursed video from "The Ring."

Of course, if you can't handle all this, then be sure to learn yo self on the Intrusive Thoughts that may disturb you after this.

What a week!

Hello Blog readers! What a chaotic week it's been! First, I received some bad news from UNLV about my attending classes there, so I basically have to petition the school to fix my transcript so I can switch my major. So, if everything works out, I will officially be a Sociology major by the end of next Spring! And graduation soon after. Let me tell you, switching your major can be mind numbing, and a big pain in the butt! All the advice I can give is: don't give up, sometimes it really IS a bad time to go to school, and your life and safety are more important than any education can give you. As long as you're breathing, you're still alive.

On that note, most of my projects, if not all for the time being have come to a dramatic halt. Hopefully work should resume within two weeks, but there's no way to say that. These extra UNLV scheduling conflicts stretch me a bit, and also all the money I spent on tuition left me on a loss for new equipment that needs to be replaced! On a more positive tone though, I will be having more time to volunteer for the Desiree Conference in July!

For those of you who I had to cancel with this week, I truly apologize! There was no way to predict the strange turn of events that has unfolded over the past week or so, and well, I'm not sure quite what to do. Getting back to my art will be a little difficult, and I'm re-sending out my CDs to my clients because it seems as if they have not received them yet! But if you did receive your package, let a brotha know! I know I lost out on a lot of good work this week, and I'm sorry for wasting everybody's time. I will find a way to repay you guys.

Some photo news though. Last night I finished another photo set with The Sancho Johnny Band at the Island Grille, and the lighting was fabulous, although I didn't take too many photos because I was recording a lot of video. Please do not try to hug me while I am filming video! Our whole conversation will get picked up on camera, and kill my sound quality! There was a cool strobe light lava fog machine that added a nice touch to the abundant psychedelic lights. I had an extra set of hands from a fellow video man I know, and we got the job done.

Now, here's what sucks about everything. My computer is about to give up on me. My poor laptop cannot handle all the workflow I've had lately, and I need to upgrade! It is taking FOREVER, literally, to upload my photos and edit them! I also need to upgrade my version of Photoshop, but how to come up with that money! So, I will be having a few Ebay auctions for my old music memorabilia I've collected over the years. I don't expect to make a lot, but I could really use the space instead.
I know this post is kind of all over the place, but that's how I feel right now. My ModelMayhem probably will NOT be approved because my computer always resets my submissions! So, lots of things going on, just not a lot getting accomplished.

Thanks for listening everyone!
XOXO, sam

Update

Hello everyone! As I am posting this blog I am extremely exhausted! Starting the new semester and balancing photography and everything else is quite the chore I never thought it would be. After today I have had a lot to think about with what direction I want to take my photography in. I don't want to say I'm disheartened, but rather I'm more informed of many more obstacles to overcome in the photo and art world, whereas before I was uninformed, misinformed, or a little ignorant; I'm not sure. I have decided to make a few changes to the Blog in order to maintain the privacy of who I work with. I learned a lot of little tips for stuff like this today after my meeting, and in my next post I'll be sure to mention what I've gathered.

There is also a major sale going on at the shoe store where I get most of my shoes from! There is a little place at the Boulevard Mall, or should I say a pretty big shoe store. They have all kinds of heels, fetish booth, platforms, stilettos, flats, all kinds of stuff. And, they ALWAYS have a rack of clearance shoes that are ALL ONLY $10! I get knee high kink boots for cheap, and you should check them out! They have discounts for exotic dancers and performers if you show proof of employment like your Sheriff's Card, or your time clock stub with stage name. I usually stock up on 5-6 pairs of shoes at a time, in multiple colors. Sometimes the clearance shoes are only in the really small and really large sizes, like 5-6 and 10-12, but since I have a petite foot and all my shoe models have petite feet, this is an ultra score because it is so hard to find sexy shoes in that size, in stock, and for that cheap, with such variety!

Photographic updates! I had my meeting with Terrell and we discussed too much stuff today! I have a lot to look forward to with prepping myself legally with my documentation for photo shoots, so I will be investing in new equipment very soon! I need to upgrade my camera and flash kits. Regarding federal laws, it is a pain in the butt to be a legitimate artist with pure curiosity in the human form, without all your work being regarded as obscene, whether nude or not. Hopefully we will be collaborating together soon! You can check out his blog at www.photoanthems.blogspot.com. He is a very wonderful, intelligent, and professional man, and I look to him to guide me in my projects, and bounce ideas off of each other. We both share a lot of curiosities about the human condition, lowering your guard and accepting yourself, and social taboos.

A few changes that you can expect to see in the blog. I will be deleting the Conspirators page and adding a Links page instead. I am preserving the privacy of my models, and will have limited contact information available for them, but they will be linked on the upcoming shoots page, and on the daily blog updates! I decided to remove the page because I did not want to cross-link a hundred times in my blog, and some models do not want to be credited for their work. Thank you for understanding the changes! Also, the gallery has been changed to accommodate those accreditation changes. I have updated the links on my gallery page with Maxx, Lisa for styling (hair and make-up) and her modeling profile Lisa Savage.

I've been watching some documentaries lately. I don't really like to give products free promotion, but if you do not have Netflix on PS3, you need to get it! It's $10 a month or something, and you stream your movies online via your Playstation. What's great is that as you watch movies, Netflix adds more movies to your library similar to the ones you already watched, sort of like an iTunes Genius playlist. So, it creates these new genre tabs you have to select from. In my genre tabs I have: In these tabs I have seen some crazy movies! Some are disturbing, and a lot are sexual, some are violent. The awesome thing about Netflix is it has so many movies to look at! They have A LOT of foreign films, and foreign classics, their genres are so vast and almost comprehensive. The only bad thing is not being able to listen to a foreign movie because I don't understand the language, and I have to read subtitles. They also have a lot of really old movies too, like 1929 era and so on. In summary, if you do not have Netflix get it now! It was cheaper than going to a movie, or even renting 3 movies.

I'd like to tell you guys about a couple things I've watched lately.
The documentary "Naked States" is about photographer Spencer Tunick, 2000, and directed by Arlene Donnelly. Spencer Tunick

I also watched the documentary "Sick," featuring Bob Flanagan, 1997, and directed by Kirby Dick. This was perhaps one of the most curiously fascinating movies I've ever seen, ever. Performance and visual artist Bob Flanagan is a sufferer of Cystic Fibrosis, a condition where the lungs produce excess mucus, resulting in constant coughing and frequent infections of the lungs. The afflicted usually die young from this disease, but Bob is one of the oldest known survivors. He has been interested in extreme S/M and bondage, all types of things from whips, chains, tazers, excrement, nailing your body (literally) to a board, and other extreme acts. By learning to control the amount of pain in his life according to his terms, he has learned to manage the extreme pain associated with Cystic Fibrosis. I find his story really compelling, and I can identify. I've always felt that being able to control your pain is another way of being able to control the reality around you, and that pain is a necessary part of development, growth, and learning for an individual. I can't even put into words about how about I feel about this guy, but he is awesome! If you are willing to open your mind, and have a solid stomach, check out this film! Viewer beware, it is a bit "extreme" and not for the faint of heart. You may actually already know Bob Flanagan from Nine Inch Nails' "Happiness in Slavery" video, which you can watch here on YouTube. YES, what he does there IS REAL!

DISCLAIMER:
Also, a word to the models I will be shooting from now on. I will be changing my protocol and taking more documentation for my photo shoots since some of the work I do is nude.
HOWEVER, I WILL NOT DISPLAY ANY ADULT PHOTOS OR VIDEO ON MY BLOG
I may provide an occasional link to other work I'm interested in though. (If) at any point I decide I would like to showcase that work publicly, I will inform the public then. So until then, please remember I am not trying to exploit, harm, or defame anybody. I have pure intent and curiosity. So please remember, especially if you are a prospective client with a child I will be shooting, that your images WILL NEVER EVER be given to someone else for malicious purposes, you will never be exploited by me or my affiliates!

I know my post is a little scattery brained, but bare with me! I'm so sleepy!
Until next time!
